Markdown page variants are available by appending .md to canonical URLs. Canonical URL: https://monetizationapps.com/docs/metermonitor/account-explorer/ Explore customer, meter, and subscription-status usage from resolved Stripe snapshots. **Account Explorer** is the primary usage analysis view in MeterMonitor. Use it to chart usage against customer subscriptions, compare meters, and turn filtered usage into customer-level follow-up lists. ## Filters and snapshot The filter card resolves usage against a specific end-date snapshot: - Choose a day, week, or month date range. - Select up to five Stripe meters at a time. - Search for one or more customers, or keep all customers selected. - Filter by subscription status: Trial, Active, Canceled, Paused, Past Due, or Unpaid. - Review the resolved snapshot date used for the chart and table. > Note: MeterMonitor uses resolved snapshots so historical usage is compared against the customer and subscription state known for the selected end date. ## Usage over time The usage chart shows one line per selected meter. Meter and subscription-status filters update the chart together, so you can compare active usage against trial, paused, delinquent, or canceled usage without leaving the page. Use the chart to answer questions like: - Which meters are growing fastest across active accounts? - Which trial accounts are already consuming meaningful usage? - Are canceled, paused, or delinquent accounts still generating metered events? - Did a specific customer or cohort go quiet during the selected range? ## Customer rows The **Customer Rows** table lists customer-meter combinations from the resolved snapshot. It includes customer identity, subscription status, product, meter, end-date usage, average usage, and sortable columns for prioritizing review. You can export the filtered customer list as CSV when sales, success, finance, or engineering teams need a working list outside MeterMonitor. ## https://monetizationapps.com/docs/metermonitor/alerts/ ### Alerts and Digest > For the complete documentation index, see [llms.txt](/llms.txt). Markdown page variants are available by appending .md to canonical URLs. Canonical URL: https://monetizationapps.com/docs/metermonitor/alerts/ Configure usage and payment alert rules, review events, and preview weekly digest content. **Alerts** helps teams monitor usage movement, payment risk, and renewal exposure without manually checking every customer or meter. ## Summary cards The Alerts page starts with current alert exposure: - **Open Alerts** — active alert events requiring review. - **Usage Drop Exposure** — metered usage currently flagged for contraction. - **Usage Spike Exposure** — sudden usage expansion that may affect invoices or infrastructure. - **Failed Payment Accounts** — active customer accounts involved in payment failure clusters. ## Alert rules MeterMonitor includes four structured alert rules: - **Usage Drop** — flags customers whose recent meter usage drops materially from baseline. - **Usage Spike** — flags sudden usage expansion before it surprises invoices or infrastructure. - **Payment Failure Cluster** — flags clusters of failed payments across active customer accounts. - **Large Renewal Approaching** — flags renewals whose current usage is a meaningful share of their meter. Each rule can be enabled or paused, included in or excluded from the weekly digest, assigned a severity, and configured with rule-specific thresholds. ## Alert events The **Alert Events** table shows recent event history with rule, status, severity, date, customer, meter, and details. You can filter by Open, Resolved, or All statuses, change the lookback window, page through results, and export the current view as CSV. ## Weekly digest preview The **Weekly Digest Preview** shows the content that would be summarized for the current digest window: - Digest KPI cards for Usage Drop Exposure, Usage Spike Exposure, Payment Risk, and Open Alert Items. - **Top Usage Changes** — the largest customer-meter movements in the preview window. - **Upcoming Renewals** — large renewals approaching in the digest window. > Note: Digest delivery settings live in Settings. Use the preview before saving alert-rule changes so teams know what the weekly email will contain. ## https://monetizationapps.com/docs/metermonitor/billing-plans/ ### Plans and billing > For the complete documentation index, see [llms.txt](/llms.txt). Markdown page variants are available by appending .md to canonical URLs. Canonical URL: https://monetizationapps.com/docs/metermonitor/billing-plans/ Understand MeterMonitor's pricing tiers, how usage limits are enforced, and how to manage your subscription. ## Overview MeterMonitor pricing is based on the number of active customers in your Stripe account. Each plan unlocks the full feature set — Account Explorer, Retention, Meter Health, Alerts, and Settings — up to its active customer limit. ## Plans | Plan | Price | Active customers | | --- | --- | --- | | Free | $0/mo | Up to 100 | | Growth | $49/mo | Up to 1,000 | | Pro | $99/mo | Up to 3,000 | | Scale | $149/mo | Up to 10,000 | | Enterprise | Custom pricing | Unlimited | In `Settings → Subscription & Billing`, the plan cards show the paid upgrade paths: Upgrade path: Growth -> Pro -> Scale -> Enterprise > Note: If you are currently on **Free**, that plan appears in the subscription summary at the top instead of using one of the upgrade cards. ## How limits are applied MeterMonitor counts **active customers** — Stripe customers with at least one active subscription — against your plan limit. The count updates each time you load billing status in Settings. - `Settings` shows your active customer count and current plan limit. - If usage exceeds your plan limit, MeterMonitor may truncate processing to the plan cap. - You can still access the app while over limit. > Tip: Upgrade before hitting your limit to ensure uninterrupted full data coverage for all customers. ## Checkout flow Upgrades are processed through a Stripe-hosted checkout page. No payment details are stored inside MeterMonitor. 1. Click **Choose Plan** on the plan card in `Settings → Subscription & Billing`. 2. An in-app hosted checkout page opens for entering the payment method. 3. Complete payment details and confirm your subscription. 4. Return to `Settings` — your new plan is reflected immediately. 5. Click **Refresh Billing** to load the updated status if the plan card has not updated yet. ## Subscription status in app Your current plan and active customer count are visible at the top of `Settings → Subscription & Billing`. This summary updates each time the page loads. The status reflects your Stripe subscription state. If you recently made a change and the status looks stale, use **Refresh Billing** to force a sync. ## Trial and cancellation Paid plans include a free trial period. You will not be charged until the trial ends. Cancel any time from `Settings → Subscription & Billing` — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and your account reverts to Free. > Enterprise plans are managed manually. Contact [support@monetizationapps.com](mailto:support@monetizationapps.com) to discuss pricing, custom limits, or cancellation terms. ## https://monetizationapps.com/docs/metermonitor/demo/ ### MeterMonitor Demo > For the complete documentation index, see [llms.txt](/llms.txt). Markdown page variants are available by appending .md to canonical URLs. Canonical URL: https://monetizationapps.com/docs/metermonitor/meter-health/ Monitor event ingestion continuity, detect gaps and anomalies, and track the health status of your Stripe billing meters. **Meter Health** monitors the continuity and reliability of event ingestion across your Stripe billing meters. It surfaces gaps, anomalies, and silence periods so you can catch billing data issues before they affect invoices. ## Health signals Each meter is assigned a health status based on observed ingestion patterns: | Status | Meaning | | --- | --- | | **Healthy** | Events arriving as expected with no detected gaps or anomalies | | **Warning** | Reduced event volume or a short ingestion gap — worth investigating | | **No events** | No events ingested for a period longer than expected based on history | | **New** | Meter was recently created and does not yet have an established baseline | ## Gap detection A gap is a period with no meter events where events were expected based on prior ingestion history. MeterMonitor flags a gap when: - A meter with consistent daily events has no events for 24 hours or more. - Event volume drops more than 80% compared to the same period in the prior week. - A meter that had events in the current billing period stops receiving events mid-period. > Note: Gap detection uses each meter's own historical baseline, not a fixed threshold. A meter that ingests events sporadically will have a wider tolerance than one that ingests every hour. ## Anomaly signals In addition to gaps, Meter Health surfaces: - **Volume spike** — event count significantly exceeds the normal range for the period. - **Volume drop** — event count is significantly below the normal range. - **Duplicate cluster** — unusually high proportion of events share the same idempotency key, customer, and timestamp combination. ## Meter detail view Clicking a meter opens its detail view, which shows: - Event volume chart for the last 30 days. - Health status history. - Recent gaps or anomalies with timestamps. - Top customers contributing events. - Last event received. ## Acting on health issues If a meter shows a gap or warning: - Check whether your integration is still sending events to Stripe for that meter. - Review recent Stripe webhook logs or API call logs for errors. - Verify the meter's `event_name` matches what your integration is reporting. - Use the meter detail view to identify the exact time events stopped. > Tip: If a meter legitimately has no events because your users are not active, MeterMonitor will still flag it as no-events. You can dismiss the signal from the meter detail view to suppress it for that period. ## https://monetizationapps.com/docs/metermonitor/mobile-app/ ### Mobile and Web App > For the complete documentation index, see [llms.txt](/llms.txt). This page explains **what carries between platforms** and **where billing behavior differs**. ## Portability (web and mobile) The following apply to the **same** MeterMonitor user account on both the [web app](https://metermonitor.monetizationapps.com/login) and the iOS app: - **Sign-in** — Same email and password (or your chosen auth path). You can start on web and sign in on mobile, and vice-versa. - **Stripe connection** — One connection per account; **Test** vs **Live** mode and OAuth or restricted key behave the same once linked. Changes made in **Settings → Stripe Account Connection** on either surface apply to the other after sync (use **Refresh Status** if something looks stale). - **Workspace data** — **Account Explorer**, **Retention**, **Meter Health**, and **Alerts** reflect the same Stripe-backed data for that account. - **Plan limits and usage** — Active customer limits and feature access follow your subscription tier regardless of which app you use to view or administer the workspace. > Tip: If you connect Stripe on one platform, open the other with the same account; you do not need to repeat connection flow. ## Subscription management differences | Topic | Web app | Mobile app (iOS) | | --- | --- | --- | | **Where you choose plans** | **Settings → Subscription & Billing → Choose Plan**, then web-hosted checkout in the browser | Same settings area; Apple present **in-app purchase** for available plans, subject to App Store rules | | **Where you change plans** | **Settings → Subscription & Billing → Change Plan**, then web-hosted checkout in the browser | Same settings area; Apple present **in-app purchase** for available plans, subject to App Store rules | | **Who charges the card** | Charging is through **Stripe** (MonetizationApps / MeterMonitor billing as documented for your plan) | Purchases go through **Apple In‑App Purchases**| | **Managing or changing billing details** | Through your web app’s billing/subscription UI | Managed in **Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions** on the device| | **Receipts and renewal** | Subscriptions emails, receipts and renewals are delivered by MonetizationApps | Apple provides subscription receipts and renewal according to App Store rules | > Note: The App Store lists the **minimum iOS / iPadOS** version for the current build. Update the device OS if the app is not compatible. ## https://monetizationapps.com/docs/metermonitor/quickstart/ ### Quickstart > For the complete documentation index, see [llms.txt](/llms.txt). Canonical URL: https://monetizationapps.com/docs/subscriptionmonitor/account-explorer/ Filter and drill into individual accounts — MRR history, plan changes, renewal dates, and quantity timelines. **Account Explorer** lets you drill into the aggregate metrics from Dashboard and Retention. Use it to find specific accounts, understand what's driving revenue changes, and assess renewal exposure. ## Filtering the account list You can filter accounts by: - Plan - Billing interval (monthly, annual, etc.) - MRR band or ARR band - Tenure (how long the account has been active) - Renewal month - Delinquency status - Expansion vs. contraction in the current period For licensed or quantity-driven pricing, additional filters are available: - Billed quantity band - Quantity expansion vs. quantity contraction ## Account detail Clicking an account opens its detail view, which includes: - MRR history and trend - Plan changes and proration events - Invoice and billing event log - Renewal date and billing term - Cumulative recurring revenue to date - Cohort membership - Payment status and recent payment events - Licensed quantity history (for quantity-driven accounts) > Note: Account data comes entirely from Stripe. SubscriptionMonitor does not enrich accounts with CRM data, product usage data, or seat assignment records. ## Segment comparison Use segment comparison to compare retention, revenue concentration, contraction rate, and renewal exposure across: - Plan tiers - Billing intervals - Acquisition periods (cohort-level) ## Exporting account data Account lists and detail exports are available as CSV from the Account Explorer toolbar. See [Alerts & Digest](/docs/subscriptionmonitor/alerts-digest/) for scheduled digest emails that summarize account-level signals weekly. ## https://monetizationapps.com/docs/subscriptionmonitor/alerts-digest/ ### Alerts and Digest > For the complete documentation index, see [llms.txt](/llms.txt). Markdown page variants are available by appending .md to canonical URLs. Canonical URL: https://monetizationapps.com/docs/subscriptionmonitor/alerts-digest/ Configure threshold alerts for churn, MRR contraction, payment failures, and large renewals. Receive a weekly email digest. **Alerts** notify you when key revenue signals exceed configurable thresholds. The **Weekly Digest** summarizes the most important signals each week by email. ## Available alert types | Alert | What triggers it | | --- | --- | | **Churn spike** | Customer churn rate or churned MRR exceeds your configured threshold | | **MRR contraction** | Net MRR movement goes negative, or contraction exceeds a threshold | | **Payment failure cluster** | More than a set percentage of subscriptions have failed payments in a window | | **Large renewal approaching** | A high-value annual renewal is coming within a selected time window | | **Licensed quantity drop** | A top account materially reduces billed quantity | ## Configuring alerts - Open **Settings → Alerts**. - Enable or disable each alert type. - Set the threshold for each enabled alert. - Choose severity — **info** or **warning**. - Toggle whether each alert is included in the weekly digest. ## Weekly email digest The digest is sent weekly to your account email. It includes: - Current MRR and net new MRR for the week - Churned MRR for the week - Top expansions and top contractions - Upcoming renewals in the next 7–14 days - Any alert rules that fired during the period To manage digest timing or opt out, go to **Settings → Alerts** and adjust the digest preferences. ## CSV exports In addition to alerts, most views in SubscriptionMonitor support CSV export directly from the toolbar. Exports capture the current filtered view and are available from Dashboard, Retention, Account Explorer, and Forecasting. > Tip: Use the large renewal alert together with Account Explorer's renewal-month filter to build a manual review list ahead of your biggest renewal windows. ## https://monetizationapps.com/docs/subscriptionmonitor/billing-plans/ ### Plans and billing > For the complete documentation index, see [llms.txt](/llms.txt). Markdown page variants are available by appending .md to canonical URLs. Canonical URL: https://monetizationapps.com/docs/subscriptionmonitor/billing-plans/ Understand SubscriptionMonitor's MRR-based pricing tiers, how limits are applied, and how to manage your subscription. ## Overview SubscriptionMonitor pricing is based on your Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) as reported by Stripe. Each plan unlocks the full feature set — revenue dashboard, retention analysis, account explorer, forecasting, and alerts — up to its MRR band. ## Plans | Plan | Price | Active customers | | --- | --- | --- | | Free | $0/mo | Up to $10,000 MRR | | Starter | $29/mo | $10K - $50K MRR | | Growth | $59/mo | $50K - $100K MRR | | Scale | $99/mo | $100K - $250K MRR | | Enterprise | Custom pricing | Above $250K MRR | In `Settings → Subscription & Billing`, the plan cards show the paid upgrade paths: Upgrade path: Starter -> Growth -> Scale -> Enterprise > Note: If you are currently on **Free**, that plan appears in the subscription summary at the top instead of using one of the upgrade cards. ## How limits are applied SubscriptionMonitor measures your **normalized MRR** — the total monthly recurring revenue across all active subscriptions in your Stripe account, normalized to a monthly equivalent regardless of billing interval. - `Settings` shows your current MRR and the plan tier it falls under. - If your MRR grows above your current plan band, you will be prompted to upgrade. - You can still access the app while over your plan band. > Tip: Upgrade before your MRR crosses a tier boundary to ensure uninterrupted full data coverage. ## Checkout flow Upgrades are processed through a Stripe-hosted checkout page. No payment details are stored inside SubscriptionMonitor. 1. Click **Choose Plan** on the plan card in `Settings → Subscription & Billing`. 2. An in-app hosted checkout page opens for entering payment method. 3. Complete payment details and confirm your subscription. 4. Return to **Settings** — your new plan is reflected immediately. 5. Click **Refresh Billing** to load the updated status if the plan card has not updated yet. ## Subscription status in app Your current plan and MRR band are visible at the top of `Settings → Subscription & Billing`. Contact [support@monetizationapps.com](mailto:support@monetizationapps.com) to discuss custom pricing, limits, or cancellation terms. ## https://monetizationapps.com/docs/subscriptionmonitor/dashboard/ ### Revenue Dashboard > For the complete documentation index, see [llms.txt](/llms.txt). Markdown page variants are available by appending .md to canonical URLs. Canonical URL: https://monetizationapps.com/docs/subscriptionmonitor/dashboard/ Understand your MRR, ARR, revenue movements waterfall, NRR, GRR, and key growth signals at a glance. The **Dashboard** is the primary view in SubscriptionMonitor. It shows the health of your recurring revenue growth at a glance. ## Metrics on the Dashboard | Metric | What it shows | | --- | --- | | **MRR / ARR** | Current monthly and annual recurring revenue, normalized across billing intervals | | **MRR Growth Rate** | Month-over-month and year-over-year percentage change | | **ARPA** | Average recurring revenue per active paying account | | **NRR** | Net Revenue Retention — are existing customers growing or shrinking in value? | | **GRR** | Gross Revenue Retention — revenue retained from existing customers, excluding expansion | | **Delinquent Revenue** | MRR currently in `past_due`, `unpaid`, or failed renewal states | | **Revenue Concentration** | Top 10 accounts as a percentage of total MRR | | **Customer Churn Rate** | Percentage of paying accounts lost in the reporting period | ## MRR Movements Waterfall The waterfall is the key view. It decomposes net MRR change into five components: - **New** — MRR from first-time paying accounts. - **Expansion** — MRR increase from existing accounts upgrading or adding items. - **Contraction** — MRR decrease from existing accounts downgrading or removing items. - **Churn** — MRR lost from cancellations. - **Reactivation** — MRR recovered from previously churned accounts. Net New MRR = New + Expansion + Reactivation − Contraction − Churn. ## Quantity lens If your Stripe account uses licensed or quantity-driven pricing, the Dashboard includes a companion quantity view beneath the waterfall. It shows whether revenue movement came from billed quantity changes, price changes, or a mix of both. > Note: The quantity lens is shown automatically when SubscriptionMonitor detects quantity-driven subscription items. It explains revenue movement; it does not measure assigned seats or product utilization. ## Currency handling SubscriptionMonitor normalizes MRR and ARR to a base currency using Stripe-reported amounts. If your Stripe account has multiple currencies, the waterfall shows a row per currency in addition to the normalized workspace totals. ## Data freshness The Dashboard reflects the latest completed ingestion run. The last sync timestamp appears at the top of the page. Real-time webhook events update the data continuously; use **Refresh** if the view looks stale. ## https://monetizationapps.com/docs/subscriptionmonitor/demo/ ### SubscriptionMonitor Demo > For the complete documentation index, see [llms.txt](/llms.txt). Markdown page variants are available by appending .md to canonical URLs. Canonical URL: https://monetizationapps.com/docs/subscriptionmonitor/demo/ Explore SubscriptionMonitor product demo. Interactive demo: [SubscriptionMonitor demo](https://monetizationapps.com/apps/subscriptionmonitor/subscriptionmonitor-demo.html). ## https://monetizationapps.com/docs/subscriptionmonitor/forecasting/ ### Revenue Forecasting > For the complete documentation index, see [llms.txt](/llms.txt). Markdown page variants are available by appending .md to canonical URLs. Canonical URL: https://monetizationapps.com/docs/subscriptionmonitor/forecasting/ Project MRR, model renewal exposure, and run scenarios based on your Stripe subscription data. The **Forecasting** module provides forward projections based on your actual Stripe subscription data — renewal dates, cohort retention, and trailing revenue trends. ## MRR Forecast Projects 3, 6, and 12-month MRR based on: - Trailing growth and contraction rates - Observed churn patterns - Renewal timing from `billing_cycle_anchor` and subscription interval ## Cohort-based projection Uses observed cohort revenue retention curves to project future revenue from current customer cohorts. Cohorts with known retention behavior produce more reliable projections than newly acquired cohorts. ## Renewal Wall The Renewal Wall shows the timing of upcoming renewals, weighted by ARR. It is especially useful for businesses with annual contracts — a large cluster of renewals in a single month represents a concentrated revenue risk. Renewal dates are inferred from `billing_cycle_anchor` and subscription interval for all subscriptions. Where `subscription_schedules` are used, scheduled changes provide additional precision. > Note: The Renewal Wall works for all merchants regardless of whether they use `subscription_schedules`. `cancel_at_period_end` flags are reflected directly in renewal exposure. ## Scenario modeling Scenario mode lets you adjust assumed churn rate, contraction rate, or expansion rate to model upside and downside outcomes against the baseline forecast. ## Quantity layer For licensed or quantity-driven pricing, the forecast can show billed quantity impact as a supporting layer beneath the revenue projection. This helps distinguish volume-driven growth from pricing-driven growth in the forward view. > Tip: Forecasting is most reliable when SubscriptionMonitor has at least 3 months of historical ingestion data. Early projections will update and stabilize as more cohort data accumulates. ## https://monetizationapps.com/docs/subscriptionmonitor/glossary/ ### Glossary > For the complete documentation index, see [llms.txt](/llms.txt). The **Retention** module surfaces the revenue-side signals of where your subscription business is silently bleeding. ## Churn rates SubscriptionMonitor tracks two churn rates for each reporting period: - **Customer churn rate** — percentage of paying accounts lost in the period. - **Revenue churn rate** — percentage of opening MRR lost to contraction and cancellation. Both are shown for the current month and as a trailing 12-month view. ## Revenue cohort retention grid The cohort grid is the flagship view. It shows what percentage of each signup cohort's recurring revenue remains at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months. Cohort membership is assigned at the time a Stripe subscription is first created. > Tip: Healthy cohorts hold above 90% GRR at 12 months. A cohort that drops sharply between months 1–3 often signals onboarding or product-fit issues rather than pricing problems. ## Customer cohort retention grid A secondary grid shows what percentage of each signup cohort is still active (not churned) at the same time intervals. ## Trial conversion rate Accounts that moved from `trialing` to `active` status in Stripe, tracked by period and cohort. ## Renewal-at-risk signals SubscriptionMonitor surfaces accounts with: - `cancel_at_period_end` enabled on their subscription. - Upcoming annual renewals within a configurable window. - Delinquent renewal attempts — failed payment on a renewal invoice. - Scheduled downgrades via `subscription_schedules`. > Note: Renewal-at-risk detection is grounded in Stripe facts only. SubscriptionMonitor does not use behavioral health scores or inferred product usage to flag accounts. ## Recently churned accounts A ranked list of accounts that churned in the current or recent period, sorted by their prior MRR or ARR contribution. Use this to prioritize win-back outreach. ## Quantity-aware contraction signals For licensed or quantity-driven pricing, Retention also surfaces accounts where billed quantity has dropped even if the total revenue impact is small. A quantity contraction signal can be an early warning before a full cancellation. ## https://monetizationapps.com/docs/subscriptionmonitor/stripe-connection/ ### Stripe connection > For the complete documentation index, see [llms.txt](/llms.txt). Markdown page variants are available by appending .md to canonical URLs. Canonical URL: https://monetizationapps.com/docs/subscriptionmonitor/stripe-connection/ Connect, verify, and switch Stripe authentication methods in SubscriptionMonitor. ## Connection methods SubscriptionMonitor supports two ways to link Stripe in **Settings → Stripe Account Connection**: - **Install/connect Stripe now** through OAuth. - **Use Stripe restricted key** with `rk_test_...` or `rk_live_...`. ## Connect with OAuth 1. Click **Connect Stripe** or **Change Stripe Connection**. 2. Select **I will install/connect Stripe now**. 3. Complete Stripe authorization. 4. Return to SubscriptionMonitor. ## Verify connection status In **Stripe Account Connection**, confirm: - **Connected** badge. - **Environment** shown as `Test` or `Live`. - **Auth** method shown as `OAuth` or `Restricted Key`. - Stripe account ID in `acct_...` format. > Note: Click **Refresh Status** if the connection view looks stale. ## Switch account or auth method 1. Click **Change Stripe Connection**. 2. Select the method you want to use. 3. Complete the selected flow. > Tip: SubscriptionMonitor keeps a single active mode at a time — `test` or `live`. Switching mode re-runs the historical backfill for the new environment. ## https://monetizationapps.com/docs/subscriptionmonitor/stripe-restricted-key/ ### Use Stripe restricted key > For the complete documentation index, see [llms.txt](/llms.txt). Markdown page variants are available by appending .md to canonical URLs. Canonical URL: https://monetizationapps.com/docs/subscriptionmonitor/stripe-restricted-key/ Link Stripe using a restricted API key instead of OAuth. Use this method when you want to connect Stripe without OAuth. ## Requirements - Use a Stripe **restricted key** only — `rk_...`. - Do not use secret keys — `sk_...`. - Match mode and key prefix: **Test** uses `rk_test_...`; **Live** uses `rk_live_...`. - Grant read access to **accounts**, **customers**, **subscriptions**, **products**, **prices**, **invoices**, and **events**. ## Save restricted key 1. Open **Settings → Stripe Account Connection**. 2. Click **Change Stripe Connection**. 3. Select **Use Stripe restricted key**. 4. Select mode — **Test** or **Live**. 5. Paste the key and click **Save Restricted Key**. ## Remove restricted key 1. Stay in **Use Stripe restricted key**. 2. Select the mode. 3. Click **Remove Restricted Key**. > Note: If OAuth credentials are available for that mode, SubscriptionMonitor can switch back to OAuth after the restricted key is removed. ## Common validation errors - **Mode does not match key**: the selected mode and the key prefix are different. - **Secret key not allowed**: key starts with `sk_`. - **Missing permissions**: key cannot read accounts, customers, subscriptions, products, prices, invoices, and events. ## https://monetizationapps.com/docs/subscriptionmonitor/troubleshooting/ ### Troubleshooting > For the complete documentation index, see [llms.txt](/llms.txt). Markdown page variants are available by appending .md to canonical URLs. Canonical URL: https://monetizationapps.com/docs/subscriptionmonitor/troubleshooting/ Common issues and quick fixes for SubscriptionMonitor setup, sync, and billing. ## Dashboard shows no data after connecting Stripe - A historical backfill runs automatically on first connect. Allow a few minutes for it to complete. - Check the last sync timestamp at the top of Dashboard. - If the timestamp is absent or stale, go to **Settings → Stripe Account Connection** and click **Refresh Status**. - If the connection shows as disconnected, re-run **Connect Stripe**. ## Stripe not connected - Click **Refresh Status** in **Settings → Stripe Account Connection**. - Re-run **Connect Stripe**. - Confirm you selected the correct mode — `test` vs `live`. ## Restricted key save fails with mode mismatch If you see a message like `The selected mode does not match the key` or `Selected mode is live, but key belongs to test mode`: 1. Verify the selected mode in **Settings** — **Test** vs **Live**. 2. Verify the key prefix: - Test uses `rk_test_...` - Live uses `rk_live_...` 3. Generate a new key from the matching Stripe dashboard environment and retry. ## MRR or ARR looks incorrect - SubscriptionMonitor normalizes MRR to a monthly equivalent across all billing intervals. Annual plans are divided by 12. - Trialing subscriptions with a trial end date in the future are not included in MRR until they convert. - Paused subscriptions are excluded from active MRR. - If a recent Stripe change is not reflected, use **Refresh Status** to trigger a webhook re-sync. ## Checkout shows `HTTP 502` or `checkout_creation_failed` - Retry once from **Settings → Subscription & Billing**. - If it repeats, capture the timestamp and contact support. ## Billing does not update after payment - Click **Refresh Billing**. - Wait 30 to 60 seconds and retry. - Webhook updates can be asynchronous — the page may not reflect checkout completion immediately. ## Cancel trial or switch to Free fails - Retry from **Settings → Subscription & Billing**. - Click **Refresh Billing** to confirm the latest provider state. - If you still see an HTTP error, capture the timestamp and contact support. ## Cohort data is empty or incomplete - Cohort retention grids require at least one full period of historical data after connection. - Cohorts created before your Stripe connection was established are backfilled automatically but may take additional time for older accounts. - If cohort data is missing after 24 hours, contact support with your account email and Stripe account ID. ## Contact support Use [monetizationapps.com/contact](https://monetizationapps.com/contact/) and include: - Timestamp with timezone. - Account email. - Stripe account ID if applicable. - Screenshot of the error. > Note: Including the timestamp and Stripe account ID usually makes support triage much faster.
